Core features
Tap a word, see the original
Every word carries its Strong’s number. One tap shows the Greek or Hebrew word that stands there — with its grammatical form, its pronunciation and the full lexicon entry.
Read the original, word by word
One button switches the verse to Hebrew or Greek — the Strong’s number on every word and its English meaning underneath. Transliteration optional. You get to the text even if you can’t read the script.
References are links
The lexicon entries are full of Bible references. Every one of them is clickable — one click and the passage is in front of you. Looking up turns into reading on.
Beautiful, calm reading
A glass window whose transparency you set yourself — from crystal clear to calmly solid. Apple’s system font, adjustable text size. Nothing jumps, nothing distracts.
One search field, three questions
Type an English word and you see the roots behind it — with the number of passages for each. “Hope” is eight different ones. Word forms count too, and a Strong’s number (G1680, H8615) works just as well as a search term.
Runs on your Mac
Lexicon, original text and grammar are built in — no internet needed. No account, no subscription. Buy once, use forever.
FAQ
Which Bible translation is included?
The Berean Standard Bible (BSB) — a modern English translation, public domain and actively maintained, in which every word is hand-linked to the Greek and Hebrew original, with full Strong’s numbers. German, Spanish and French reading texts are planned for later.
What are Strong’s numbers?
A numbering system from 1890 that links every Bible word to its Greek or Hebrew original. It lets you see the root meaning behind the translation — without knowing Greek or Hebrew.
Do I need to know Greek or Hebrew?
No. In original-text mode, each Hebrew or Greek word carries its English meaning underneath, and transliteration can be switched on — so you see what stands there and how it sounds, even without reading the script.
Where do the original text and lexicon come from?
From the STEPBible datasets (Tyndale House, Cambridge), licensed CC BY 4.0 — one source for original text, grammar and lexicon, so everything lines up. The attribution is shown in the app with every entry.
Is there a subscription?
No — Super Strong is a one-time purchase. Pay once, use forever.
Is there a Super Strong for iPhone and Android?
Yes — both are out. The same app, built for touch: reading text, original text, lexicon and concordance all sit on the device there too. The links are up next to the buy button. They are bought where they live — on the App Store and Google Play; the purchase here is the Mac license.
System requirements
A Mac with macOS 13 (Ventura) or later, Apple Silicon or Intel. About 25 MB of disk space — Bible text, lexicon, original text and grammar are built in, and word search runs locally too; the network is only used for the license and the update check. No account needed, no personal data. Separate Super Strong apps for iPhone (iOS 15 and later) and Android (Android 11 and later) are on the App Store and Google Play — the Android build asks for no permissions at all, not even internet. Not for Windows.
